As many rock stars know, spending years on the road can end even the strongest relationships. While some iconic groups are able to continue performing together despite animosity within the band, others can’t quite seem to make it work. Now, fans are hoping one of the biggest rifts between bandmates in music history may be coming to an end as former Eagle Don Felder recently praised Don Henley for his work on ‘Hotel California.’
Don Felder has been at odds with his former bandmates since leaving the group in 2001. However, during a recent interview the guitarist delivered rare praise for Don Henley, and his contributions to one of the band’s biggest songs, according to Best Classic Bands. During the interview with Dan Rather, Felder said “It’s a unique progression of the basic chord progression from the demo that I wrote, and Don Henley wrote some brilliant lyrics.”
The interview comes from an episode of ‘The Big Interview With Dan Rather’ that aired April 29, 2020, but has gained attention recently as fans hope this could be the end of the iconic rift between bandmates. Maybe Felder will even one day hit the road with the group once again.
