Dogs really are man's best friend. They have the innate ability to calm us down or cheer us up, and no pup seems to do that better than this pocket beagle from Fort Worth named Hershey.
Hershey was recently named the inaugural winner of the "Happiest Hounds" competition, held by TrustedHousesitters to find the happiest dog in the U.S.
According to WFAA, Hershey was chosen as the Happiest Hound for "his infectious enthusiasm and happiness for life."
Hershey's owner Monica says that he befriends a ton of other animals by just how happy he is, including chickens, rabbits, sheep, goats, guinea pigs, finches, fish, and even a hamster.
"[Hershey's] superpower is building lasting fur-riendships," she said. "He does this by his calm and pleasant presence to all animals. We can literally see pet's anxiety decrease right before our eyes thanks to Hershey."
