Most Texans only get a taste of Fletcher’s Corny Dogs once a year at the State Fair of Texas. However, with the Texas-based brand expanding in recent years, many fans have been able to take care of their corn dog needs year-round.
Now, Fletcher’s has found a new way to get their flavor in the mouths of Texans, as it was recently announced they have teamed up with Fort Worth’s Martin House Brewing Co. to make a new mustard-flavored beer.
Martin House Brewing Co. has become known for their odd beer flavors, releasing barbecue sauce beer, pizza beer, hot dog water seltzer and Real Mayo Beer over the years. However, their latest is sure to be a Texas favorite, as their new mustard brew was made in collaboration with Fletcher’s Corny Dogs. According to Dallas Morning News, the brewery made the new beer by starting with a sour base, then added corn, several giant tubs of mustard from Restaurant Depot and pickle brine from Fort Worth’s Best Maid Pickles.
The new beer will be launched at an event on June 10 called “Glizzy Fest” that will feature a John Cougar Mellencamp cover band, food trucks, a dunk tank and a hot dog eating contest. “This beer is the perfect drink to go with your corny dog,” said Shugg Cole, the brewery’s marketing director. Soon, many Texans may have a new favorite beer.
