Many kids dream of one day becoming a cowboy, but sadly not too many end up following that career path. However, an iconic cattle herd is now giving people in DFW the chance to live out their childhood dream. The group is looking to hire drovers to help with their recreation of historic cattle drives at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The Fort Worth Herd recently announced both part time and full time job openings for drovers. Drovers are in charge of recreating historic cattle drives through the Fort Worth Stockyards, according to WFAA. The group is looking for both animal and history lovers that will be able to interact with visitors, operate equipment such as tractors and trailers, and care for the horses and cattle.

Full- and part-time drovers will be paid $16 to $20 an hour, and while it’s not mandatory, horseback riding experience is preferred. There are 17 Texas longhorns in the herd and soon, some lucky North Texans will be responsible for them.
