In the next few years, parents of Fort Worth ISD students will no longer be able to place bumper stickers on the car declaring their kid is an "A+ student."
According to WFAA, Fort Worth ISD will be phasing out the classic letter grading system we all had growing up in favor of a "standards-based report card."
According to district officials, this new grading model will show parents how students are performing against state standards instead of a raw percentage for each subject.
The district says this new system will roll out in three phrases, with pilot programs occurring next academic year 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 if necessary, before full conversion in 2025-2026 or 2026-2027.
