For some people, their only shot at landing their dream job is somehow coming across a genie that will grant them three wishes. While one Fort Worth native didn’t need a genie to land his dream job, he did manage to secure a job as a genie. Major Attaway will be the one granting wishes now, as the performer was recently hired to play ‘Genie’ in the Broadway production of ‘Aladdin.’

Fort Worth native Major Attaway recently manifested his dream job, securing the role of ‘Genie’ in Aladdin after a discussion with playwright, Doug Wright. Attaway had been performing at Casa Manana Theatre in DFW when he discussed his future with Wright. “He said, ‘Major, I like you. What do you want to do?’ And I said, ‘I want to be the Genie on Aladdin in Broadway,” said Attaway.

According to CW33, that discussion led to an audition with Disney, and Attaway eventually landed the role of ‘Genie.’ Along with his newfound career on Broadway, Attaway is also an avid gamer, and has a Twitch channel with more than 1,400 followers. With this new job, that number should soon be skyrocketing.
