With the start of school right around the corner for DFW students, many are already starting to do their back to school shopping. Of course, all those purchases can add up, costing families way more than they expected to pay. That’s why the Fort Worth Police Department is hosting a free school supplies giveaway to help give them some relief.
On Friday, the Fort Worth Police Department will host an event giving away school supplies to students in need. The event will begin at 5:30 P.M. and will include a backpack giveaway and kid activities. They will also be showing the movie ‘Encanto’ at the outdoor event, according to CW33.
Each backpack will be full of other supplies students can use. There will also be back-to-school vaccines offered at the event. While school shopping can be stressful for some, the Fort Worth police want to make sure it’s enjoyable for everyone this year.
