Over the last few years, cryptocurrency has seen a major jump in popularity as more and more people invest in the digital form of currency. Still, when someone is asked to explain anything involving crypto, most still don’t know exactly what to say. However, that could soon change for the people of Fort Worth, as the city plans to vote on a resolution on Tuesday that could transform Fort Worth into a “crypto-friendly city.”

A few months back, many in the world of cryptocurrency started talking about Texas becoming one of the leaders in bitcoin mining. Now, it appears Fort Worth is joining the movement, as the city council plans to vote on a resolution that would encourage the technology’s development as well as accept the donation of three bitcoin mining machines from the industry advocacy group Texas Blockchain Council, according to Fort Worth Star Telegram. If passed, Fort Worth would become “crypto-friendly, welcoming to the industry and to those responsible businesses contributing to the development of this evolving technology.”
