The Fort Worth Zoo is celebrating a major milestone this weekend. It has been 30 years since the zoo reopened under the leadership of the Fort Worth Zoological Association, in partnership with the city of Fort Worth, and to celebrate the anniversary they are throwing a party full of music and entertainment. The event will kick of Saturday morning, and Admission is half-price all day.
While the Fort Worth Zoo first opened in 1909, it went through some major changes back in 1992, setting in motion the creation of 18 new habitats, multiple conservation nonprofit partnerships and work saving species across the globe. Now, the zoo will be celebrating 30 years of growth with a special 30th Anniversary Festival. According to FortWorthZoo.org, the event will be on November 19 and will include live musical acts throughout the park, photo ops, high five strolling characters, and giveaways.

There will also be themed animal enrichment activities in habitats across the zoo. As a thank you the zoo will also be offering half-priced admissions for the entire day. For zoo lovers, this is an event they won’t want to miss.
