We all could use a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of living in North Texas.  The Metroplex is loud and fast, and sometimes as humans, we just crave complete and total silence.

Thankfully, there's a spot like that right in our backyard.

Fort Worth's Japanese Garden was recently named the most "peaceful" spot in Texas and one of the quietest city spots in the U.S., according to a new study from Earth.fm.

Earth.fm is a nonprofit dedicated to identifying the quietest places in some of the world's largest and loudest cities.  Per the Dallas Morning News, the Japanese Garden received a "quiet score of 8.7," making it the seventh-quietest spot in the U.S., behind gardens in Phoenix, Portland and Seattle.

For comparison, the next-quietest spot in Dallas were Old City Park, with a quiet score of 4.3 and White Rock Lake Park with a score of 3.9.

The 7.5 acre-Japanese Garden, which is located inside Fort Worth's Botanical Garden, was completed in 1973 and features Japanese maples, magnolia trees, cherry trees, bamboo, a waterfall, a moon viewing deck, and 1,200 Koi fish.

Last month, Southern Living Magazine named the garden one of the South's "most beautiful gardens."
