Driving in Texas is, above anything else, certainly an experience.
There are some parts that are gorgeous.
Sunrise in the Hill Country, perhaps. Most of our time spent behind the wheel is cursing at some people going too fast (or to slow), wallowing in a traffic jam, or running over a nail in a construction site.
It’s a pretty mixed bag, which is why it makes perfect sense that Texas recently ranked as the 26th best state in the nation for drivers.
The study came from SmartAsset, who based their rankings on auto insurance premiums as a share of annual household income, the price of a 15-gallon tank of gas as a share of weekly household income, traffic fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled, and the share of interstate highway pavement rated "good."
Texas tied with Colorado for 26th.
The ten best states in the nation for drivers include:

2 – Minnesota
3 – New Jersey and North Dakota
5 – Utah
6 – Connecticut
7 – Hampshire
8. – Wisconsin

And the ten worst are:
