It has been over five years since the death of Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister, but the iconic frontman’s legacy as one of the coolest figures in music continues to be enhanced. A friend of the late singer recently revealed the special gift he gave to friends after his death, and now many are claiming they want to do the same. According to the friend, Lemmy had his ashes put into bullets and given out to loved ones.
Former ‘MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball’ host Riki Rachtman recently revealed he received a special gift from Lemmy Kilmister, five years after the frontman’s death. “Before his death Lemmy asked for his ashes to be put in some bullets and handed out to his closest friends. Today I received a bullet and was literally brought to tears,” Rachtman wrote on social media. The post has since gone viral, with many calling it the coolest way to be memorialized.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, another friend claimed to receive one of the bullets back in 2020 while visiting the Rainbow Bar and Grill in Hollywood, where a memorial was held for Lemmy shortly after his death. While it may not be for everyone, it’s the perfect way for Lemmy to be remembered.
