Three pitmasters from Goldee's Barbecue in Fort Worth make 'Food & Wine' list of best new chefs

The debate over which state in the country has the best barbecue never seems to end.  Texas may have just thrown the knockout punch, though.

Food & Wine magazine just released a list of the 13 best new chefs in the United States and not only are three from North Texas, they all work in the same restaurant!


Jalen Heard, Lane Milne and Johnny White, best friends, pitmasters, and all co-founders of Goldee's Barbecuein Fort Worth were recognized as some of the best new chefs in the country!

After working at various barbecue joints around Austin, the friends moved back to their hometown of Arlington to open their own spot.  Goldee's has become nationally recognized as some of the best barbecue in the country, including nods from Southern Living, and the New York Times.

Per the Dallas Morning NewsFood & Wine says the "perfect order" at Goldee's is brisket, pork ribs, house sausage, beans, potato salad, kale slaw and their housemade brioche.

Goldee's is located at 4645 Dick Price Rd in Fort Worth, and is only open Friday through Sunday starting at 11 a.m.
