Over the years, Texas has produced some of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen. Legends across multiple genres claim the Lone Star state as home, making it difficult to pick who is the best of the bunch. Luckily, a new report is here to make that question a little easier to solve, as it ranks the 32 greatest Texas guitarists of all-time.
Guitar World recently unveiled their list of the greatest guitarist ever to come from Texas. Their list featured a range of musicians from genres such as blues, rock n’ roll, pop and more. While plenty of spots can be argued, most agree on the top spot, as none other than Stevie Ray Vaughan took that honor. “More than any other guitarist, Vaughan embodied and celebrated Texas,” Guitar World said of the legend.

Rounding out the top five following Vaughan on the list was Pantera’s Dimebag Darrell, Eric Johnson, Freddie King and Albert Collins. Some other legends making the cut were Billy Gibbons, Stephen Stills and Willie Nelson. While this list has some great names, the debate will likely continue.
