Seeing cows in Texas isn’t that rare, but usually they are at a farm and not wandering around a DFW neighborhood. However, that’s exactly what happened on Sunday when a herd of cows snuck into a Grand Prairie neighborhood causing a bit of havoc. Now, the cows are in the possession of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department as their owner is yet to be found.
On Sunday night, residents of a Grand Prairie neighborhood were startled as a herd of cows began wandering through yards, grazing on bushes and digging into garbage cans. According to NBC DFW, the cows were spotted on the streets behind Hobbs Williams Elementary. “My rosemary bush is gone, but other than that it [was] just a funny sight. It was pretty comical,” said neighbor Edith Faz.
The cows were eventually corralled by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department. The six cows are currently being held in the department’s livestock area until the owner is found. Hopefully the owner is found soon so they can get out of cow jail.
