These days it’s getting harder and harder to spot a scam, especially for the senior members of our communities.
In a new study conducted by H&P Law, Texas ranked fourth nationally for average financial losses per cybercrime targeting seniors, with victims losing an average of $42,934 per crime.
Over a five-year period, Texas seniors lost $1.81 billion in cybercrimes.
Per CW33 California recorded the highest average loss per crime in the nation at $51,482, with average annual losses of $765,296,156. Texas reported $362.9 million in annual losses from senior-targeted cybercrimes.
