Most parents will do just about anything for their kids, even if it means risking their life. One parent proved that recently after his bull riding son took a tumble during a recent rodeo in Texas. With his son knocked unconscious, the dad jumped on top of him shielding him from an oncoming bull to the amazement of the crowd and now many online.
18-year-old Cody Hooks was competing in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association event at the Bell County Exposition Center in Belton, Texas recently where he dealt with many bull riders’ greatest fear. The young competitor was tossed from the bull and knocked unconscious. As he was on the ground, a number of other bull riders tried to coral the bull and help Hooks, but before they could get to Hooks his father was already on the arena floor protecting his son from the oncoming bull.
As seen in the now viral video, the bull eventually slams into the father protecting his son, leading to gasps from the crowd. According to Fort Worth Star Telegram, the video was shared on Instagram by Cody Hooks where it quickly went viral. Thanks to his heroic act, Hook’s father is in the early lead for father of the year.
