It seems construction is never ending on the roads of DFW, but luckily for Arlington residents a project that has been ongoing for years is finally coming to an end. Two new interchange ramps along I-30 recently opened, with three more on the way. After seven years of construction, the project to modernize the I-30/SH 360 interchange is almost done.

Back in 2016, crews broke ground on a $233 million project at I-30 and SH 360 in Arlington. The goal was to make an interchange similar to the Mixmaster in Fort Worth or the High Five in Dallas to improve traffic flow and safety, according to CBS Texas. Now, the project just reached a major milestone with the opening of the westbound I-30 interchange ramp to SH 360 and the southbound ramp to eastbound I-30.

“Basically, when we started this project, it was empty sky, and we're going to be substantially complete by the end of the year," said Val Lopez with the Texas Department of Transportation. The other ramps are expected to be completed by the end of 2023. Soon highway construction will seem like a thing of the past; at least until the next project begins.
