JACK-fm knows a thing or two about partying. That’s why to celebrate the Memorial Day Party Train Weekend; we have decided to share some of our great moments in party history.

Prince – ‘1999’

They say the best way to party is to party like there is no tomorrow and Prince absolutely knew all about that. Throughout his career he gave the world a soundtrack to nights full of fun, but in 1982 he delivered the ultimate party advice. While some may have thought Prince could see the future, he was just teaching the world to party like it is 1999.

Australian Sun Glasses Kid

As anyone who has thrown a house party knows; the next day is usually full of regrets. Between the clean-up and the damage to the home, most usually claim they are done with partying after the night is over. However, one teen made it very clear he had no regrets, going on the news after the party he threw got out of hand, and became a party legend while doing so.

‘Dazed and Confused’

Many long for the days when the biggest issue they had in their lives was finding a place to party over the weekend. For high school students, this is a constant issue, as the moment someone’s parents leave town for a weekend, it’s a guarantee their home will be taken over by kids. However, as ‘Dazed and Confused’ taught us back in 1993, when the house party gets shut down, there’s always the moon tower to keep the party going.

Kiss - ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’

There are only so many hours in the day, and many are in constant search for the perfect schedule. While most want to find extra time for hobbies or chores, some just want some extra time in the day to party.
Luckily back in 1975, KISS created the perfect schedule for anyone who loved to party. All they had to do was rock and roll all night, and party every day.

‘Risky Business’

Every high school student dreams of the day their parents go out of town and they get an empty house all to themselves. While the empty house may be used for a number of things, it’s a guarantee every kid at one point will strip down to their underwear, put on Bob Seger’s ‘Old Time Rock & Roll, and bust out their best lip sync performance. This is all because of the 1983 film ‘Risky Business’ which taught the world what to do when parents leave town.

Beastie Boys

There are many examples throughout history of people trying to stop others from partying. Whether it’s a house party getting broken up, a bar announcing last call, or simply not getting invited to join in on the good time, people are constantly being told they must stop partying. Luckily, in 1987 the Beastie Boys put out a party anthem that let people know; sometimes they gotta fight for their right to party.
