Jamie Foxx has been in the news recently due to some health issues, but as the star recovers, he still found time to give back to his hometown. The actor, who was born and raised in Terrell, recently gifted the city a new basketball court. The court is located at Breezy Hill Park and is now open for anyone looking to play.
Over the weekend, the city of Terrell announced local legend Jamie Foxx gifted the city a new basketball court. The red colored court features the actors name at center court, along with “Foxx Hole: Believe & Achieve" above his name. According to WFAA, Breezy Hill Park is located south of Southwestern Christian College.
"Look what’s new at Breezy Hill Park! Let’s play ball! A shout out to Jamie Foxx and Gilbert Willie Charities for making this awesome court possible!" the city wrote in a Facebook post announcing the new basketball court. The court also has the words "Terrell Fighting Tigers" and "Gilbert Willie Charities" near the sidelines to honor his friend’s father, Gilbert Willie Sr., worked as a coach, teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in Terrell ISD for more than 30 years. Maybe DFW’s next basketball star will learn to play on this court.
