However, when it comes to someone like Janet Jackson, there is still so much more story to tell. Luckily fans will soon get an inside look at Janet Jackson’s life, and were recently given a taste of what’s to come as Janet Jackson shared the first trailer for the upcoming documentary, ‘Janet.’
‘Janet’ is set to premiere on Lifetime and A&E in January 2002 and will mark the 40th anniversary of Jackson’s self-titled debut album. “This is my story, told by me. Not through someone else’s eyes. This is the truth. Take it or leave it. Love it or hate it. This is me,” says Jackson in the trailer. According to NME, the trailer features interviews with Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey and Paula Abdul, along with clips of her late brother Michael Jackson, and ‘Poetic Justice’ co-star, Tupac Shakur.
Directed by Ben Hirsch, the upcoming documentary has been in production for over five years. Using archival footage the documentary will dive into a number of significant moments in Jackson’s life, including her controversial 2004 Super Bowl performance. Soon enough the world will know the true Janet Jackson.
