Food brands are constantly trying to get a leg up on their competition and Lay’s potato chips is no different. Usually they try and spice things up by introducing new flavors, but this time they tried a different tactic. The snack brand recently announced they have teamed with Eastside Distilling to create new vodka made with Lay’s potato chips.
As more and more brands attempt to step outside of their comfort zone, collaborating with brands to make products other than food, Lay’s became the latest to make a move towards alcohol. Their new Lay’s vodka comes in a 750 milliliter bottle, and will only be available for a limited time. “This launch comes just in time for the holidays so our fans who are 21 years old and over can enjoy Lay’s in an exciting, brand-new way at their get-togethers, or can gift Lay’s Vodka to the Lay’s fan in their lives," said Melissa Miranda, Frito-Lay North America's senior director of marketing.

The bottle was made available on Eastside Distilling’s website for $40 on Thursday, but quickly sold out, according to Yahoo. Many are hoping more bottles become available, so they can give the new potato vodka a try. Soon enough they will be attempting to make their chip flavors into flavored vodka as well.
