As a musician becomes more and more famous, it’s important for them to remember where they came from in order to stay grounded. That’s why GRAMMY award-winning musician Leon Bridges recently took to the streets of DFW to give fans an impromptu performance. Video of Bridges performing on the street in Bishop Arts recently went viral, leaving many locals upset they missed the spontaneous concert.

Fort Worth’s Leon Bridges was in town over the weekend, and while the singer-songwriter recently put out new music and is preparing for an upcoming tour, he still had time to play some music for those in Bishop Arts. During the lunch rush on Sunday, Bridges borrowed a guitar from another street performer and showed off his musical abilities. “The street was blocked off a bit and cars were parking, and there were people standing in the street. It was awesome,” said Cameron Jayce McCann, the shop manager at the Brass Tacks Barber Shop.

According to Dallas Morning News, the impromptu concert took place outside Whitehall Exchange on the corner of North Bishop Avenue and West Seventh Street. Bridges has a history of performances in the area, performing at McCann’s barbershop in 2014 as well. Hopefully more impromptu performances are on the way.
