Getting struck by lightning is so rare it is often used as a way to describe something that will likely never happen. Of course, when it does happen it usually causes quite a bit of destruction. Someone in Texas had to learn that the hard way recently when their pickup truck went up in flames after being struck by lightning.

Earlier this week, a thunderstorm passed through the Houston area that caused quite a bit of damage when lightning struck a parked car. According to Fox News, the car was parked at Collins Park in Klein when it was struck. The car was quickly engulfed in flames as its hood and driver-side door were flung open.

Luckily, no one was in the car at the time, and no one was harmed during the incident. Eventually both the Klein Fire Department and Constable deputies responded to the scene to help put out the fire. Whoever owned the car may want to buy some lottery tickets now.
