Dallas Love Field is going green.

According to WFAA, the airport has purchased several energy-capturing pods that officials hope will turn the wind generated by its own airplanes into energy that will power the airport itself!

Love Field will receive thirteen pods from JetWind over three years, and six charging stations will be installed at the airport that directly draw power from the pods.

JetWind has had prototypes of these pods stationed at Love Field since 2021.

Patrick Carreno, Director of Aviation for the City of Dallas, said, “We couldn’t be prouder to host JetWind during their prototype phase and help certify the benefits of this technology.  It’s even more exciting to be their first customer after being a guinea pig!”
