Major changes may be on the way for DFW's Preston Center

Owners want to add office and apartment buildings to the mix

DFW has gone through quite a few changes over the last few years. Parts of town that were once empty are now thriving with businesses on every corner. Now, one of the metroplex's largest retail blocks has announced they are looking to upgrade as well.

The Preston Center Pavilion on Westchester Drive south of Northwest Highway currently features more than 230,000 square feet of retail space. However, owners recently said they plan to add office and apartment buildings to the area. "We want to build 265,000 square feet of office space and 180 units of multifamily and 30,000 square feet of retail," said Ramrock president Robert Dozier.

According to Dallas Morning News, owners are currently seeking city approvals for construction. If approved, new buildings would replace the single-story retail storefronts currently in the shopping center. With this, it seems the changes in DFW will continue.
