Every year, it seems people dress up as Santa only to cause problems for themselves while in costume. 2020 has been no different, with plenty of Santa’s getting caught in unfortunate situations. The latest example comes from California where a man dressed as Santa had to be rescued after crashing a hang glider-like aircraft and getting tangled in power lines.
A man was spotted recently flying a strange contraption in Rio Linda, a city in California's Sacramento County. Unfortunately his plan to deliver candy canes to children in the area didn’t go as planned, as his aircraft crashed into power lines. The man’s recreational aircraft was described by the fire department as a “hyper light.”
"Without any doubt, the restraints prevented him from injury and likely saved not only Santa's life, but Christmas," said the man. Luckily no one was harmed and the fire department got the man down safely. Hopefully Santa doesn’t run into similar problems on Christmas.
