
South Padre Island has always been one of Texas’ best vacation destinations, but now it’s about to get even better. On Monday, the first Margaritaville Beach Resort on the Gulf Coast opened at South Padre Island. With this new resort, South Padre Island hopes to not only become the premiere Texas travel destination, but one of the best in the country as well.
Margaritaville Beach Resort officially opened their doors this week as the South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome both residents and visitors. According to Valley Central, The $30 million project features 250 guestrooms and condos, Joe Merchant’s Coffee and Provisions, a Landshark Bar and Grill, Salty Rim Bar and a new poolscape with a swim up bar. “I think it’s going to help our businesses on South Padre, not just our hotel but our restaurants, our amenities, our activities,” said President of the South Padre Island Chamber of Commerce, Alita Bagley.
The new hotel is located it 310 Padre Blvd., where the former Pearl Hotel South Padre once was. A resort spa and event rooms for weddings and professional meetings will also be available for guests. With this hotel, many will soon be wasting away on South Padre Island.
