Several students at an elementary school in Mesquite were injured after a bounce house they were playing in was lifted into the air due to high winds.
A fourth-grade student at Lawrence Elementary, who was holding a play day event, told WFAA, "It was tipping over a little bit, and then it just like flew into the air. I knew I was going to get hurt in some kind of way, but I didn't know how. And it was really scary."
Witnesses say some students in the bounce house suffered broken bones though no other students were harmed, and the day's activities continued indoors.
Mesquite ISD has launched an investigation into the incident. Students say the bounce house was on concrete and was secured by sandbags.
