There are many throughout DFW still recovering after a weekend filled with Metallica. After two shows last weekend at AT&T Stadium, the iconic rock band definitely left their mark on the metroplex, but as if the music wasn't enough, the band decided to take things a step further by helping out North Texans in another way. It was announced on Monday that Metallica made a massive donation to Tarrant Area Food Bank through their 'All Within My Hand' foundation.
Metallica got the full DFW treatment this weekend, performing in Arlington on Friday and Sunday, and hitting a few Dallas spots as well during their off day on Saturday. After seeing all the metroplex had to offer, the band decided to give back by donating $35,000 to the Tarrant Area Food Bank. "We want to thank Metallica for this $35,000 gift, their on-going support of the Tarrant Area and for caring about people who may not know where their next meal will come, especially during these summer months across our 13-county service area" Julie Butner, President & CEO of Tarrant Area Food Bank.
According to WFAA, the band's weekend also consisted of stops at the Texas Theatre and Three Links in Deep Ellum. While many fans will be talking about this weekend for years to come, their donation will help even more people. Maybe it will create some new Metallica fans as well.
