Homeowners do this by renting out their home using services like Airbnb, or their pool using Swimply, but now there is an app that will let homeowners rent out their backyard for dogs.
Sniffspot is an app that’s been around for a few years but is starting to gain more popularity as homeowners look for extra income. The service allows homeowners to rent out their backyard to dog owners to use as a private dog park. According to Dallas Morning News, Sniffspot was created for dogs who don’t do well at the dog park and owners who either don’t have a yard or don’t want to interact with strangers.
“It started as a way to earn passive income, but now the reward is hearing pet owners say their dog starts to get excited when they exit the highway for my place,” said DFW homeowner Phillip Walters, who has been using the app since 2020. For homeowners that don’t mind having dogs around, this is definitely a great way to make extra money.
