Modern technology has taken over the restaurant industry over the last few years. With QR code menus, tablet registers and mobile ordering; the food industry has truly adjusted with the times. Now, things are about to go a step further as Chili’s recently announced they will be deploying robot servers at locations throughout the country, including some in DFW.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Chili’s would finally be using the robot server they first began testing back in 2020. Now, those robots are finally here, as four North Texas locations are using the robot roaming the restaurant to deliver food. According to Dallas Culture Map, the robot can currently be found at the Castle Hills – 4570 Highway 121, Lewisville, Tarrant Pkwy – 8485 Davis Blvd, North Richland Hills, Justin Road – 6251 Long Prairie Rd, Flower Mound and Park & Preston – 5012 W. Park Blvd, Plano locations.

The robot is named “Rita” and was made by California-based Bear Robotics. There are currently 61 Chili’s locations throughout the country using the robot. Hopefully this isn’t the start of the robot takeover.
