Combining the "two sacred cuisines of Texas" is the goal of Dallas restaurateur Julian Barsotti, whose new restaurant Los Charros Tex-Mex Smokehouse is set to open May 30 in University Park.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Barsotti is working with Corby Ferrell, a full-time banker and barbecue hobbyist, on the restaurant, which will offer a combination of smoked meats and Tex-Mex, including the brisket nachos, brisket quesadillas, and smoked chicken flautas. And those are just the appetizers!
Some of the entrees will include Brisket Frito pie comes topped with chile piquin barbecue sauce, cheese enchiladas served with Wagyu beef, King Ranch chicken, barbecue shrimp tacos, and red snapper tinga.
Los Charros Tex-Mex Smokehouse is set to open May 30 inside of The Graduate Hotel, near SMU's campus, at 6101 Hillcrest Ave.
