Unless absolutely necessary, officials are urging DFW residents to just stay home Friday and avoid driving if at all possible.

Apparently, several regions across Texas will be experiencing increased levels of ozone pollution, including the Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Galveston and Brazoria areas.

Officials suggested we all avoid using our cars on Friday to help reduce the pollution.

The National Weather Service said in an alert per Newsweek, “Atmospheric conditions are expected to be favorable for producing high levels of ozone pollution in the Houston, Galveston, and surrounding areas on Friday.

"You can help prevent ozone pollution by sharing a ride, walking, riding a bicycle, taking your lunch to work, avoiding drive through lanes, conserving energy and keeping your vehicle properly tuned.”
