While Downtown Dallas has gone through some major changes over the year, one of its largest buildings has remained the same. Now, that building is up for sale and it could bring some changes to the area. It was recently announced that the 109 year old Landmark Center has hit the market, just four months after another nearby building was sold.
Landmark Center was built back in 1913, and was originally used as a warehouse for General Electric. Over the years the building changed hands, converting to offices in the 1970s, but has remained mostly vacant in recent years. Hopefully that will soon change as one of the largest historic buildings in the West End looks for new owners.
"The property features original hardwood floors and exposed brick architecture promoting a creative ambiance, catering to the influx of millennials and tech companies pouring into the immediate area," said commercial property firm Jones Lang LaSalle. According to Dallas Morning News, the building is 140,317-square-feet. Soon, a new business will be calling one of DFW's most historic buildings home.
