The internet seems to have an obsession with hot dogs with memes, videos and even social media accounts dedicated to the food item. Often referred to online as “glizzies” the hot dog mania came to fruition last year when a video went viral of a man drinking a beer through a self-made hot dog straw at a baseball game. Now, Oscar Mayer has brought that moment to life, as they recently unveiled their new hot dog straws.
Oscar Mayer is no stranger to viral moments, and their latest comes courtesy of the new hot dog straws. Sadly, the straws are not made of actual hot dogs, but instead silicone. According to The Takeout, the straws are reusable and currently available for preorder on Oscar Mayer’s website.
“Taking inspiration from a classic Oscar Mayer dog, the silicone Hot Dog Straw is designed for optimal sipping, and we hope it brings a friendly reminder that we don’t need to take enjoying a delicious hot dog seriously,” said Kelsey Rice, associate director of Oscar Mayer brand communications. No official release date for the hot dog straws has been announced at this time. However, once they are released many will have the ultimate way to prank their friends.
