In recent years, there has been a trend of thieves stealing catalytic converters from cars. Now, someone has managed to get away with the catalytic converter of one of America’s most famous vehicles. The piece was stolen from the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile during a recent stop in Las Vegas.
Last week, the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile had its catalytic converter stolen while parked at the Sonesta Suites on Paradise Road in Las Vegas.
The theft wasn’t noticed until the next morning, when the iconic car wouldn’t start. Luckily, the 27 foot hot dog on wheels was towed to a shop where mechanics were able to install a "temporary" piece.

According to Fox News, the Weinermobile managed to make it to its next two stops, and is still in operation traveling the country. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said they haven’t received a report of theft involving the Weinermobile. Hopefully the criminal is found before more iconic cars have their catalytic converters stolen.
