Ever since Portillo’s opened their first DFW location earlier this year, long lines have become the norm at the Chicago-based fast food location in The Colony. Their first foray into Texas has been such a success; multiple other North Texas locations are now being planned. The next to open will be in Allen, and in preparation of that store’s opening later this year, the Portillo’s “Beef Bus” will return this week to get the metroplex excited.
Starting Tuesday, Portillo’s Beef Bus food truck will be stationed at the Hampton Inn, 830 W. Stacy Rd. for three weeks. The Beef Bus first hit DFW back in July of 2022, traveling around the metroplex to show people what to expect when the first location opened in The Colony. While no opening date has been announced at this time for the Allen location, their website says it will be "opening soon."
According to Dallas Culture Map, the Beef Bus will be open for service Tuesday-Saturday from 11AM-7PM. For those hoping to get a job with Portillo’s, the food truck will also serve as a help-wanted center. Soon, DFW will have another Portillo’s to try when the line in The Colony gets too long.
