Records are meant to be broken and sadly one that DFW had been able to claim since 1983 now belongs to a bar in Omaha, Nebraska. On Monday, Raising Cane’s CEO Todd Graves stopped by Rocco's Pizza and Cantina to take part in their College World Series Jell-O Shot Challenge. In support of LSU, Graves purchased 6,000 Jell-O shots, beating a world record that was set once by Merle Haggard at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth.

The College World Series is currently underway in Omaha, Nebraska and while teams are competing on the field, fans have a competition of their own going on at a bar next to the stadium. Rocco's Pizza and Cantina has become known for their Jell-O shot challenge, where fans buy shots in support of certain teams competing at the College World Series. This year, the bar set a record in support of LSU with 21,435 shot mainly thanks to Raising Cane’s CEO Todd Graves buying 6,000 shots for $30,000.

The 6,000 shots ordered beat a world record previously set in 1983 when Merle Haggard bought everyone shots during a show at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, totaling 5,095 shots. According to NOLA, a portion of proceeds from each shot purchased go toward food pantries for all eight teams at the College World Series. Maybe someone will stop by to try and beat the new record before the tournament is over.
