It seems these days they can turn just about any scent into a candle. There are all sorts of smells and aromas people can choose from to fill their homes, but many often argue which odor is the best. Now, a new report has found the most popular candle scent for each state, and some may come as a surprise.
Retail jeweler Shane Co. recently unveiled a list of each state’s favorite candle scent. To find each favorite, they put together a list of 24 of the most popular candle scents and looked at the Google search data for each scent by state. Based on their research, they found that the top choice in Texas was Gardenia.

According to CW33, Gardenia is a fragrant species of plant sold by florists and grown as an ornamental. While that was the top choice of Texas, it wasn’t the overall favorite, as the majority of states had pumpkin as their favorite scent. With this report, people no longer have to question which candle to buy.
