Students don’t often think about what their school’s teachers and faculty do outside of work, but many times it’s something just as impressive as their day jobs. That’s why many were stunned recently when they found out a Richardson ISD maintenance man was actually an accomplished musician as well. Now, that man has released a new album of classical piano music, but even with music success, he says he has no plans to stop working at the school.
Bobby Orozco has been playing the piano since he was a little kid, and years later the passion is still there, despite his love for his day job working for Richardson ISD. However, music is more than just a hobby, as Orozco has released multiple albums and singles over the years. His latest is called ‘Tumbleweed,’ which he did with his band, The Driftin' Outlaw Band.
According to Fox 4 News, Orozco did piano and cello arrangements for the six song album, despite not knowing how to play cello. “My music doesn't have any words to it so every person can literally interpret it differently," said Orozco. Now, more of his students will know about his other job, though they shouldn’t expect the success to go to his head.
