For most people, running a mile in under five minutes is no easy task. That becomes even harder when they attempt to do it while chugging a beer every quarter mile. Of course, that’s the task runners have when attempting the “beer mile” and recently a new world record was set for the fastest beer mile time.

Canadian runner Corey Bellemore recently set a new world record for fastest beer mile time at the 7th annual Beer Mile World Classic in Leigh, England. Bellemore had previously set the record back in 2017 with a time of 4 minutes and 33 seconds. Now, he has reset the bench mark, finishing the race in 4 minutes and 28 seconds.

According to Bro Bible, Bellemore chose four Beer Mile Lagers from Canada’s Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery as his beer of choice. The only rules runners have to follow during the beer mile are; drinking a beer with a minimum of 5% ABV, the beer must be canned and consumed without any “drinking aids” and anyone who pukes has to run an extra lap. Now beer mile runners have a new goal to reach.
