Some scientists are hard at work; developing new technology, curing diseases and changing the world. However, there are also scientists helping the world determine things like who would win a fight between Godzilla and King Kong. With ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ being released last week, many fans brought up the age-old question; who would win an actual fight between the two monsters. Luckily, a scientist has stepped up to help provide the official answer.

Kiersten Formoso, a “functional morphologist” at the University of Southern California recently used her expertise to help compare the two fighters. The scientists broke down the fight in a number of categories, such as; size, fighting ability, skill on land, bite and defense. According to BroBible, Formoso’s final determination was that Godzilla would come out on top.

“I may give a slight edge to Kong in broad terrestrial battle ability, but Godzilla’s general mass, defense and tail would be hard to overpower. And lest we forget, the tipping point for Godzilla is that he has atomic breath!” said Formoso. While some online agreed, it definitely sparked the debate once again. At least now fans can view the new movie with a scientific understanding of the characters.
