Officials in South Texas have issued a warning to residents to be on alert as a tiger has escaped from a zoo in Mexico.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office told Valley Central that the tiger escaped along the banks of the Rio Grande River last Wednesday, September 3.
Over the summer, the Quinta La Fauna Zoo in Hidalgo introduced their newly obtained tiger Fíona, though it is unclear if she is the animal on the loose.
The zoo will remain closed until further notice.
