Over the last couple of years, there has been a massive influx of Californians moving to the Lone Star State.  Though it appears that the reverse is happening as well.

According to data from the Census Bureau, some 102,000 Californians have moved to Texas, but also that in 2021-22, more Texans moved to California than from any other state, about 42,279 to be exact!

Allison Hallas moved her family from Dallas to Pleasanton, California, and recently told CBS News one of the top reasons they made the move was California's weather.  And though she acknowledged the cost of living in California was much higher than in Texas, Hallas said she and her family were "ready for a change."

Abby Raisz, a senior research manager with the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, believes that another factor could be the removal of remote working possibilities.  She believes that many Californians who moved to Texas during the pandemic could be moving back as more offices remove the option of working from home.

Just keep this in mind if you're pondering moving the family across the country: only one of these states has Buc-ee's!
