When looking for a new car, usually people want to find the vehicle that matches their personality the best. For some that means getting a big truck, for others it’s simply about the car’s color. However, the easiest way to show off one’s personality on their car is with a personalized license plate. Of course, there are rules as to what can be put on a license plate, and now the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles has unveiled some of the strangest requests they received in 2022.
The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles recently claimed they had to reject more than 5,000 personalized license plate requests in 2022. While a personalized plate costs more money, there are still rules put in place as to what can be used. According to Fox News, letters, numbers, spaces and symbols like hyphens, periods, hearts, stars or the state silhouette can be used, but indecent, vulgar or derogatory content is prohibited.

Some of the rejected plates for 2022 include SHE MAD, COOLAF, F@RT, SCAM, BADAZZ, SAV4G3, ROADRG3, UR NEXXT, SADGRL, SNAZZY B, KSSTHIS, SPICEGL, TOOTED, NO EFFS, N4KD, NF*GVN, GOT BUN, OLD MANS, TOESUKR, SMKE*EM, BYE@H8RZ , IM PSSD, FN FANCY , TX AF 1 and URDONE4. Sadly all these drivers had to pick something else for their car. Hopefully 2023 is filled with even stranger license plate requests.
