Teaching is one of the most difficult jobs there is, as not only are teachers tasked with molding the minds of the youth for the future, but usually they are doing it for little pay. That’s why DFW-based Texas Instruments has decided to award one North Texas teacher for her hard work and dedication. The teacher received $10,000 from the Texas Instruments foundation after winning the STEM Teaching Award.

Kristen Dale teaches eighth-grade Algebra 1 at KIPP Pleasant Grove Leadership Academy, but she is known for always going above and beyond for her students. “Ms. Dale is always willing to try new strategies for students to learn and is always thinking about what is best for each individual child in her classroom," said Anne Smead, School Leader for KIPP Pleasant Grove Leadership Academy. Dale was given the $10,000 award at a ceremony at the KIPP Pleasant Grove Leadership Academy on Thursday.

According to NBC DFW, half the prize will go directly to Dale, with the other half to be used for her classroom at her discretion. Dale’s love of math started when she was a student, and led her on this career path. Hopefully her success inspires her students to do the same.
