Giving to charity is always a good thing, but sometimes it's smart to double check what exactly is being donated. A Texas man learned that lesson the hard way recently, after realizing he left $5,000 in a jacket he donated to Goodwill. Luckily for the man, the money was actually found and returned by a Goodwill employee.

Asking for money back is always awkward, especially when it's a charity, but after losing $5,000 the man knew he had to try and get it back. "About three weeks ago, we had a customer that had come in and said his wife had accidentally donated $5,000 in cash. We roughly get donated anywhere from 50 to 2300 donations a day, so when the customer had come in, I explained to him that we had to go and sort through bag-per-bag," said Goodwill store manager Rhonda Davis.

After weeks had passed, the man had given up on getting his money back, but the Goodwill employees were determined to find the envelope full of money. Eventually, employee Maqayla DeLaPena found the money and was given a reward for her honesty and finding the money, according to Fox News. Luckily for the Texas man, the Goodwill location saved him from a likely argument with his wife.
