Mother of five Kaylee Morgan recently went to renew her driver's license but was unable, as she was informed she had a current warrant out for her arrest.

You can imagine the shock, as Morgan had no tickets or prior arrests on her record.

You can imagine how that initial shock grew when Morgan learned the warrant was out due to unreturned books to her local library.

According to FOX News, last March Morgan took out five books about Vincent Van Gogh from Navasota Public Library in Grimes County, Texas.  She says that she returned them on time, though one of the books was too big to fit in the library's returns box.

Still, Morgan only realized the severity of her predicament when she visited the DMV.  Despite the value of the two library books in question being only $60, Morgan was hit with a bill of $569.59, mostly in fines and court fees.

A judge was not sympathetic to Morgan's plight.  Morgan recalled, "She told me she didn't want to hear my excuses, that I needed to take responsibility.  She said, what I have done by not returning the library books is the same as stealing from Walmart."

The judge also reiterated that if Morgan was pulled over in Grimes County, local police would place her under arrest.

Morgan has raised over $1,300 through GoFundMe which helped pay off the fines, and now plans on hiring a lawyer and get the whole mess removed from her record.
