There are few more divisive topics you can discuss with your peers than tipping.

We can spend all day breaking down why tipping is good or bad but regardless of how you feel, a new survey from Toast, Inc. found that Texas is among the worst states in the country when it comes to tipping!

According to Toast's data, Texas ranks 42nd in the nation for "average tipping percentages" left at restaurants.

Texans tip an average of 16.4% at "quick-service restaurants," which brought out tipping averages down significantly.  When we dine at full, sit-down restaurants, Texans tip 19.2%, above the average of 18.9%.

The worst state when it comes to tipping?  California, which has an average tip rate of 17.4 percent for all restaurant bills, full and quick-service.

Fun note: The survey also found that Texans drink 119% more tequila than the average state!
